Been away on business today and was lucky enough to get some time to visit the Falkirk Wheel. Basically this is a modern take on the canal lock and it is incredibly impressive. There are two troughs that rotate around the centre lifting and lowering boats up and down what is an enormous drop. Standing at the top is a scary experience as it is a long way down!
